Corporate Fast

Corporate Fast

Wednesday, April 12, 2017 - Friday, April 14, 2017

Group: Chantilly

PREPARING SPIRITUALLY:

Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).

DECIDING WHAT TO FAST:

The type of fasting you choose is up to you. You could go on a full fast in which you only drink liquids, or you may desire to fast like Daniel, who abstained from sweets and meats, and the only liquid he drank was water. Remember to replace that time with prayer and Bible study.

TYPE OF FAST:

Full Fast - Drink only liquids (you establish the number of days)
The Daniel Fast - Eat no meat, no sweets, and no bread. Drink water and juice. Eat fruit and vegetables.
3-Day Fast - This fast can be a full fast, a Daniel fast, or avoiding one type of food.
Partial Fast - A partial fast is from 6:00am to 3:00pm or from sunup to sundown; avoiding one type of food is better than one item of food.

PRAYER POINTS:

“The great work of intercession is needed for the returning of the Lord. It is here that the coming revival must find its strength. Let there be, with every minister and worker, great searching of heart (Judges 5:16), as to whether they are ready to give as much time and strength to prayer as God desires. Let them, even as they are in public, leaders of their larger or smaller circles, give themselves in secret to take their place in the front ranks of the great intercession host.”    Andrew Murray

As we observe Holy Week and we come together to fast and pray,  we remember the precious love and sacrifice made on our behalf by Christ our Savior.  As we celebrate His resurrection this season, we commit our hearts to intercession.  Our prayer focus can be found in Isaiah 60:1-2 which reads;

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you”.
Our prayer Points:

Day One:
Redeem: Pray that the church will rejoice in the understanding that the Lord has redeemed us from destruction and has crowned us with his lovingkindness and tender mercies.

Day two:
Receive: Pray that our community will be awakened to the grace of God and that they will come out of darkness and receive Him as their Lord and Savior.

Day Three:
Revive: Pray that our churches will be revived and that the glory of the Lord will be evident through our churches.  We believe for a revival in our churches and nation.
